About this product

Description

Imagine the charm of old-world craftsmanship right at your dinner table with the stunning Polish Pottery Bowl from W.R. Ceramika. This 7.25" x 6.25" culinary marvel isn't just a bowl; it's a versatile piece of art, ready to bring your favorite soups and stews to life. Perfectly oven-safe, this bowl can handle everything from bubbling pot pies to luscious small casseroles and even decadent desserts or hot dips. Crafted in the quaint town of Boleslawiec, Poland, by skilled artisans, this bowl isn't just made, it's lovingly hand-painted with the playful "Dot to Dot" pattern, featuring whimsical white polka dots dancing on a cobalt blue backdrop.

The "Dot to Dot" design belongs to the Traditional category of Polish pottery patterns—iconic and instantly recognizable. Created using the ancient "punching" technique, highly skilled artists meticulously hand stamp each piece, infusing bits of nature and bursts of creativity into every dot. Though considered simpler in design, these patterns carry a beauty that lies in their variability; since a large pool of artists craft these designs, no two pieces are exactly alike, making each bowl a unique treasure. Not just a pretty face, this bowl boasts a generous 22 oz. capacity and robust construction that is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe (up to 425 degrees), ensuring it meets the demands of modern convenience.

Since its inception in 1978 by the visionary J.K. Rutyna, W.R. Ceramika has stood out for its commitment to unique designs and exceptional quality. Each piece from their studio is a testament to the artistry and tradition of Polish pottery making. They are known for their exquisite floral, plant, and traditional stamp motifs, presented across four levels of "Unikat" artistry. As one of the smallest manufacturers that we partner with, and the pieces from W.R. Ceramika arriving less frequently, owning one of these bowls is truly something special. It's not just a dish; it's a slice of Polish heritage, ready to add a splash of color and a story of artistic tradition to your home décor.

Care information

Cleaning

Polish Pottery is Dishwasher safe! Or, clean by hand using regular dish soap and scrub brush.

Guidelines to keep your pottery in excellent condition:

You may safely use Polish pottery in the microwave and in a conventional oven at temperatures up to 425°F. We recommend you heat your stoneware up to temperature with the oven. Make sure to always cover the entire bottom of the dish when baking. For example, you don't want to put a single chicken breast in the center of a baker and leave the rest of the surface area uncovered, as the empty spots will heat at a different rate than those with food on them. Polish pottery does not like quick changes in temperature or uneven heat sources, and thermal shock WILL result in a broken dish.

Never place your pottery directly on a hot stovetop burner!

While Polish pottery is extremely durable, it should not be taken directly from the freezer and placed into a hot oven. In addition, cold water or frozen food should not be placed in a hot piece of pottery. Always allow cooling or warming to room temperatures before heating in an oven or placing in a freezer. If taken care of properly, your Polish pottery can last for generations!
