Designed and Manufactured in Poland
The Polish Pottery Outlet works directly with Polish factories. As each piece is handmade and hand-painted, we have place our orders many months in advance to allow time for it to be produced, packed, and shipped overseas.
The clay is mined locally in Boleslawiec, Poland, and then formed into classic shapes. After the forms are shaped, they are painted, glazed, and fired, until what once was a lump of raw clay has transformed into the beautiful, durable pottery we've all come to know and love.
The production process is multi-faceted
Polish Pottery is dishwasher, oven, and microwave-safe, but it is especially well known for its unique shapes and patterns.
One of the most famous and popular shapes in all of Polish pottery are the Belly Mugs, which are pictured here unpainted. Collectors love the way these fit in their hands!

After the pottery is handmade
It is carefully wrapped up to get ready for its journey across the Atlantic Ocean from Poland to our store in Englewood, Colorado. Depending on the shape of the pottery, we can fit about 10,000-15,000 units of Polish pottery in one 40 ft. container. We typically have a variety of pieces from several manufacturers on each shipment.
The truck has left the factory
The international journey begins when the truck leaves the factory, hauling our 40 foot container from Poland to Germany. From there, it is shipped to Houston, Texas. After it is taken off the ship in Houston, it is loaded onto a chassis, which is the wheel base of the truck. Once a driver is available, the container is driven to the train, and loaded onto the rails. Once in Denver, we work on the last mile, which is hiring a driver to deliver it to our back door for unloading. The door to door shipping process can take several months, but we can all agree the wait is well worth it! Shop New Arrivals
We track the shipment daily
Anticipating every container's arrival is important for our business and schedule planning. With some amazing efficiencies our esteemed team has been able to reduce our receiving time significantly by half.
For 6 hours we unload
Our team unpacks the 40 foot container. This is the same container that traveled on the road in Boleslawiec, Poland, to Germany, across the Atlantic, through the Houston port, onto a chassis, train, road, etc.
After arriving, it takes about 6-10 people to unload, using an assembly line.
This is no ordinary product
Once the truck is unloaded, the boxes must be opened. The new products are especially exciting to see. It truly feels like Christmas, no matter the time of year!
Unpacking takes special skills, and only our specially trained team members can do it.
After all the hard work, it is exciting to see the pottery glow in the showroom
After just a few days, a few thousand of the items from the shipment are already on the shelves. It can take 6-8 weeks for the entire shipment to be unpacked, however.
