Description

Imagine pulling a perfect, golden-brown pie from the oven, the aroma filling your kitchen with sweet, comforting scents. Now, imagine that pie nestled beautifully in a Polish Pottery Baker from Manufaktura, specifically the enchanting "Lily of the Valley" pattern. This isn’t just any pie plate; it’s a piece of art, crafted with care in Boleslawiec, Poland. Each 9.75-inch round baker features not only convenient handles for easy carrying but also a delightful design of light blue bellflowers twined around green vines, set against a crisp white background. The vibrant colors and intricate patterns are more than just decorative; they tell a story of tradition and craftsmanship.

The "Lily of the Valley" pattern is part of the Traditional collection, the heart and soul of Polish pottery designs. These patterns are beloved worldwide for their classic beauty and the familiar comfort they bring to any home. Each piece is hand-painted by skilled artisans using a time-honored technique known as "punching," where designs are stamped onto the pottery by hand. This method ensures that no two pieces are exactly alike, adding a unique charm to each baker. Despite the simplicity suggested by the term "Traditional," these patterns require a profound level of skill and represent a limitless world of artistic expression. This particular pie plate is not just a tool for baking; it’s a canvas that showcases the rich heritage of Polish pottery.

More than just pretty, this Polish Pottery Baker is built to last. Made from high-quality materials, it is tough, durable, and resistant to chipping. Whether you’re whipping up a family dinner or preparing a feast for a special occasion, this pie plate can handle the heat—literally. It’s safe for use in the dishwasher, microwave, freezer, and oven up to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Plus, it’s free from harmful substances like lead, nickel, and cadmium, ensuring that it’s as safe as it is stunning. Add a splash of color and a dash of Polish tradition to your culinary creations with this exquisite piece from Manufaktura, a pioneer in the pottery industry since 1992 and a continued trendsetter in the world of Polish ceramics.

Care information

Cleaning

Polish Pottery is Dishwasher safe! Or, clean by hand using regular dish soap and scrub brush.

Guidelines to keep your pottery in excellent condition:

You may safely use Polish pottery in the microwave and in a conventional oven at temperatures up to 425°F. We recommend you heat your stoneware up to temperature with the oven. Make sure to always cover the entire bottom of the dish when baking. For example, you don't want to put a single chicken breast in the center of a baker and leave the rest of the surface area uncovered, as the empty spots will heat at a different rate than those with food on them. Polish pottery does not like quick changes in temperature or uneven heat sources, and thermal shock WILL result in a broken dish.

Never place your pottery directly on a hot stovetop burner!

While Polish pottery is extremely durable, it should not be taken directly from the freezer and placed into a hot oven. In addition, cold water or frozen food should not be placed in a hot piece of pottery. Always allow cooling or warming to room temperatures before heating in an oven or placing in a freezer. If taken care of properly, your Polish pottery can last for generations!
