Description

Imagine the aroma of a freshly baked pie wafting through your kitchen, the crust perfectly crisp and the filling just right—no spills, no mess. Enter the charming world of the Polish Pottery Pie Bird, a delightful 4" ceramic marvel from Manufaktura, dressed in the stunning "Scandinavian Scarlet" pattern. This whimsical tool isn’t just a pie baker's dream for its practicality; it’s a miniature piece of art! Perch it in the center of your pie, and as the heat rises, steam escapes through its beak. This not only prevents soggy bottoms but also keeps your masterpiece looking pristine, all while adding a touch of whimsy to your baking routine.

The "Scandinavian Scarlet" pattern is a visual feast, featuring a crisp white background intersected by intricate blue geometric patterns. Radiant red bellflowers and lush teal blossoms dance around the center, each detail painted with the utmost care. This design isn’t just beautiful; it's an example of Unikat artistry—a designation given to only the most exquisite and complex patterns. Crafted by a select group of artists, each Unikat piece, like our pie bird, boasts a unique stamp on its base, signaling its authenticity and the exceptional skill required to bring such a design to life. Owning this piece means embracing a slice of artistic excellence.

Beyond its beauty and functionality, this Polish pottery pie bird is crafted in the heart of Boleslawiec, Poland, by artisans whose skills have been honed over generations. Manufaktura, the pioneering studio behind this piece, has been a beacon of innovation and quality since 1992, often regarded as a trendsetter in the pottery world. Not only is this pie bird a functional kitchen tool, it's also a collector's item, safe for use in the dishwasher, microwave, and even the oven up to 425 degrees. Whether you're looking to elevate your baking or searching for that perfect, quirky gift, this Polish pottery pie bird marries tradition with a splash of modern charm, making it an irresistible addition to any home.

Care information

Cleaning

Polish Pottery is Dishwasher safe! Or, clean by hand using regular dish soap and scrub brush.

Guidelines to keep your pottery in excellent condition:

You may safely use Polish pottery in the microwave and in a conventional oven at temperatures up to 425°F. We recommend you heat your stoneware up to temperature with the oven. Make sure to always cover the entire bottom of the dish when baking. For example, you don't want to put a single chicken breast in the center of a baker and leave the rest of the surface area uncovered, as the empty spots will heat at a different rate than those with food on them. Polish pottery does not like quick changes in temperature or uneven heat sources, and thermal shock WILL result in a broken dish.

Never place your pottery directly on a hot stovetop burner!

While Polish pottery is extremely durable, it should not be taken directly from the freezer and placed into a hot oven. In addition, cold water or frozen food should not be placed in a hot piece of pottery. Always allow cooling or warming to room temperatures before heating in an oven or placing in a freezer. If taken care of properly, your Polish pottery can last for generations!
