About this product

Description

Imagine a charming kitchen counter adorned with a quaint Polish Pottery Butter Crock, boasting a delightful "Butterfly Blues" pattern. Crafted by the talented Andy from a small, family-owned factory in Boleslawiec, Poland, this butter crock merges traditional artistry with a modern twist. With dimensions of 3.25" in height and 4.25" in diameter, it perfectly houses your favorite butter or margarine. Just add a splash of water to the bottom dish, pop your butter into the top, and voilà—fresh, spreadable butter at your fingertips! A pro tip for the savvy: a pinch of salt in the water helps keep mold at bay, meaning less frequent changes and more time savoring your delicious spreads.

The "Butterfly Blues" design on this crock is nothing short of enchanting. It features vibrant blue butterflies fluttering amidst white blossoms, a pattern that captures the essence of a serene garden. This pattern belongs to the Traditional level of Polish pottery, known for its widespread recognition and production. The creation of these designs involves a meticulous "punching" technique where skilled artisans hand-stamp each piece, inspired by the natural beauty around them. Although deemed 'simpler', the traditional patterns offer unlimited production, catering to high demand and showcasing slight variations that make each piece uniquely yours.

Not only is this Polish Pottery Butter Crock a functional kitchen essential, but it's also a small work of art. Hand-painted and crafted in Boleslawiec, the crock withstands the demands of daily use. It's safe for the dishwasher, microwave, freezer, and even the oven—up to a toasty 425 degrees! The high-quality materials ensure it's tough, durable, and resistant to chipping. Free from lead, nickel, and cadmium, this piece is as safe as it is stunning. Elevate your home dining experience with this exquisite piece of Polish pottery, or mix and match it with other patterns to dazzle your guests with a splash of color and a dash of tradition.

Care information

Cleaning

Polish Pottery is Dishwasher safe! Or, clean by hand using regular dish soap and scrub brush.

Guidelines to keep your pottery in excellent condition:

You may safely use Polish pottery in the microwave and in a conventional oven at temperatures up to 425°F. We recommend you heat your stoneware up to temperature with the oven. Make sure to always cover the entire bottom of the dish when baking. For example, you don't want to put a single chicken breast in the center of a baker and leave the rest of the surface area uncovered, as the empty spots will heat at a different rate than those with food on them. Polish pottery does not like quick changes in temperature or uneven heat sources, and thermal shock WILL result in a broken dish.

Never place your pottery directly on a hot stovetop burner!

While Polish pottery is extremely durable, it should not be taken directly from the freezer and placed into a hot oven. In addition, cold water or frozen food should not be placed in a hot piece of pottery. Always allow cooling or warming to room temperatures before heating in an oven or placing in a freezer. If taken care of properly, your Polish pottery can last for generations!
