About this product

Description

Imagine setting your table with the exquisite charm of the Zaklady Polish Pottery Plate, a delightful addition to any meal. This 9.5" round plate, crafted in the picturesque town of Boleslawiec, Poland, carries the enchanting "Grecian Dot" pattern, where classic white dots dance on a vibrant blue background, encircled by whimsical square swirls in harmonious shades of blue and green. The Traditional level of artistry of this pattern offers a timeless appeal, making it a standout piece that's instantly recognizable among connoisseurs of fine Polish pottery.

Each plate is a testament to the unique craftsmanship of the Zaklady artisans. Using the age-old "punching" technique, these skilled artists hand-stamp each design with a precision that breathes life into the earthenware. The "Grecian Dot" design is not just a pattern but a story told in hues and shapes, inspired by the natural beauty of the Polish landscape. Although considered one of the simpler designs due to its Traditional classification, the charm of this pattern lies in its slight variations, which means no two plates are exactly alike. Whether it's a quiet dinner at home or a festive gathering, these plates add a dash of artistic flair to any occasion.

Not only is this Polish Pottery Plate a feast for the eyes, but it's also built to last. Made from high-quality materials, it is tough, durable, and resistant to chips. Perfectly safe for the dishwasher, microwave, oven (up to 425 degrees), and even the freezer, it combines functionality with style seamlessly. The Zaklady factory, with a rich history that stretches back to the 1800s, is renowned for its high-quality craftsmanship and is the only remaining government-owned pottery factory in Poland. By choosing this plate, you're not just buying dinnerware; you're owning a piece of Polish heritage, crafted with care and designed to delight.

Care information

Cleaning

Polish Pottery is Dishwasher safe! Or, clean by hand using regular dish soap and scrub brush.

Guidelines to keep your pottery in excellent condition:

You may safely use Polish pottery in the microwave and in a conventional oven at temperatures up to 425°F. We recommend you heat your stoneware up to temperature with the oven. Make sure to always cover the entire bottom of the dish when baking. For example, you don't want to put a single chicken breast in the center of a baker and leave the rest of the surface area uncovered, as the empty spots will heat at a different rate than those with food on them. Polish pottery does not like quick changes in temperature or uneven heat sources, and thermal shock WILL result in a broken dish.

Never place your pottery directly on a hot stovetop burner!

While Polish pottery is extremely durable, it should not be taken directly from the freezer and placed into a hot oven. In addition, cold water or frozen food should not be placed in a hot piece of pottery. Always allow cooling or warming to room temperatures before heating in an oven or placing in a freezer. If taken care of properly, your Polish pottery can last for generations!
