Description

Introducing the enchanting Polish Pottery Container from W.R. Ceramika, a delightful blend of tradition and whimsy that promises to brighten any corner of your home. Whether nestled on your kitchen counter or perched on a bathroom shelf, this round, covered treasure (5" x 4") is not just a container, but a small piece of art. Crafted in the playful "Mosquito" pattern, its design features charming white polka dots playfully scattered across a deep cobalt blue backdrop, complemented by a white band adorned with brown dots and whimsical green "mosquitoes". This eye-catching design is not only traditional but filled with personality, ensuring that it stands out as a unique yet functional piece in your collection.

Each container is a testament to the skilled craftsmanship of Boleslawiec, Poland, where artisans use the age-old "punching" technique of hand stamping to bring each piece to life. These patterns, inspired largely by nature, are considered "Traditional" in the realm of Polish pottery, meaning they're crafted with a simplicity that belies their intricate beauty. Since the "Mosquito" pattern falls into this category, it enjoys limitless production without sacrificing uniqueness, as each piece varies slightly due to the different interpretations of individual artists. Not only does this create a rich tapestry of style, but it also means that your particular container is one-of-a-kind.

More than just a pretty face, this Polish Pottery Container is built to last, made from materials that are tough, durable, and resistant to chipping. It’s not only lead, nickel, and cadmium free but also fully functional for modern living; safe for use in the dishwasher, microwave, freezer, and oven (up to 425 degrees). Perfect for storing everything from cotton balls to sweeteners, it’s a versatile addition to your home that combines traditional artistry with contemporary utility. Plus, as a creation of W.R. Ceramika—a boutique pottery studio founded in 1978 by J.K. Rutyna—each piece carries with it a legacy of quality and creativity, making it all the more special. So why not invite a touch of Polish craftsmanship into your home? Mix and match with other patterns to create a vibrant, stunning display that is sure to captivate and impress.

Care information

Cleaning

Polish Pottery is Dishwasher safe! Or, clean by hand using regular dish soap and scrub brush.

Guidelines to keep your pottery in excellent condition:

You may safely use Polish pottery in the microwave and in a conventional oven at temperatures up to 425°F. We recommend you heat your stoneware up to temperature with the oven. Make sure to always cover the entire bottom of the dish when baking. For example, you don't want to put a single chicken breast in the center of a baker and leave the rest of the surface area uncovered, as the empty spots will heat at a different rate than those with food on them. Polish pottery does not like quick changes in temperature or uneven heat sources, and thermal shock WILL result in a broken dish.

Never place your pottery directly on a hot stovetop burner!

While Polish pottery is extremely durable, it should not be taken directly from the freezer and placed into a hot oven. In addition, cold water or frozen food should not be placed in a hot piece of pottery. Always allow cooling or warming to room temperatures before heating in an oven or placing in a freezer. If taken care of properly, your Polish pottery can last for generations!
